Beginner Mobile Entertainer Certification Program

 

The Beginner Mobile Entertainer Certification Program was established to provide Education, Training and Certification in the Mobile Entertainment Industry.  Students will participate in a class room setting along with “In the Field” Training with the areas top Mobile Entertainment Firms.  Upon certification, students will have opportunities for immediate job placement. 

 

The Beginner Mobile Entertainer Certification Program is endorsed by the Florida Mobile Entertainment Group, a Non-Profit Organization established in Jacksonville, FL for the purpose of Education in the Mobile Entertainment Industry.  Along with this program, the Florida Mobile Entertainment Group also hosts seminars at various trade shows across the state to educate the community with their nationally recognized “Tips on Hiring the Right Mobile Entertainer for Your Event”.

 

The instructors for the Beginner Mobile Entertainer Certification Program are veterans of the Mobile Entertainment Industry each having a minimum of 10 years experience.  They have also been nationally recognized and awarded for their efforts to improve the Mobile Entertainment Industry in the state of Florida as well as across the country.

CLASS OUTLINE

 

The Beginner Mobile Entertainer Certification Program is a 35 hour course.  The course outline is as follows:

 

Day 1: Introduction

During the first day the students will be given an overview of the curriculum offered in the program along with a brief history of the Mobile Entertainment Industry.  Students will also be explained the benefits of completion and the procedures for job placement upon completion.  Finally, an Assessment Survey will be administered to each student.

 

Day 2: Equipment & Workshop

Students will learn procedures in researching, purchasing and operation of necessary equipment in the Mobile Entertainment Industry.  Other topics of discussion will be technology advancements, troubleshooting and transporting procedures.  There will also be a “hands-on workshop” to familiarize students with set-up, break-down, operation and troubleshooting of various pieces of equipment.

 

Day 3: Vocal Training & Workshop

Vocal training is very important in whatever area of Mobile Entertainment a student chooses to pursue.  The administrator of this class is a veteran of Theatre & the Arts and will provide exercises designed to show students how to get the most out of their voices.  A workshop will also provide students opportunities to work together and use the exercises provided to gain confidence in their voice and their vocal presentation.

 

Day 4: Emcee Skills

Upon completion of vocal training the focus will shift to more specific expectations of an “emcee” at various events.  Attitude, audience motivation, crowd control and mistakes/miscues will be just a few areas of discussion.  Students will also be taught how to take “problems” and turn them into “tools”.

 

Day 5: Music Knowledge

This class will cover basic knowledge of music from each decade starting with the 30’s & 40’s (Big Band Era) and covering each decade leading up to today’s top hits.  Students will learn to familiarize themselves with popular artists and music trends from each decade.  They will also learn the history of how different genres of music have influenced the Mobile Entertainment Industry. 

 

Day 6: Corporate & Private Event Protocol

Corporate and Private Events are the backbone of the Mobile Entertainment Industry.  Weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Corporate Team Building are just a few of the types of events that will be discussed during this class.  Responsibilities associated with each event will be explained.   Protocol may change from event to event, but there many similarities that can be taken from one to the other. 

 

Day 7: Improvisational Skills & Workshop

Improvisation is another important skill to have when performing in the Mobile Entertainment Industry.  This class will first discuss improvisation, the importance of it and how to implement the knowledge and skills learned through the training.  This class will also include an Improvisational Activities Workshop.

 

Day 8: Activities & Workshop

This class will focus on Activities (Games, Team Building Exercises, Party Dances, etc.).  Activities are essential for any kind event and can enhance the performer’s value to the event.  Students will be taught a variety of basic dances, interactive games and team building exercises and will participate in a workshop that will include the activities they have learned.

 

Day 9: Karaoke & Workshop

This class will focus on the history of karaoke, how and where to use karaoke and the equipment necessary to provide karaoke for an event.  There will be a workshop designed to help the students become more comfortable with being a host of a karaoke party or any event that will include karaoke as part of the entertainment.

 

Day 10: Game Show Mania & Workshop

Game Show Mania is the cutting edge of Event Entertainment.  Students will learn a variety of game shows.  Students will have the opportunity to work with a variety of game show equipment to learn how to set up and operate the various game shows.  There will also be a workshop designed to help students gain confidence in hosting game shows.

 

Day 11: Final Exam

A Final Exam will be administered to all students that will include elements from each day’s training.  Each student that passes the final exam with a minimum grade of 80 will receive their “Beginner Mobile Entertainer Certification” and will be invited to the certificate presentation and job placement interviews.

 

Day 12: Certificate Presentation & Job Placement Interviews

All passing students will receive their Certificate of Completion and be invited to interview with the areas top Mobile Entertainment Firms who will be on-hand to help with the certificate presentation.

 

          ***Students will also have the opportunity, at their request and availability, to accommodate current Advanced Certified Mobile Entertainers to gain “In the Field” experience.  This will be completely optional, available on a voluntary basis, and will provide opportunities for students to gain extra credit based on participation.

 

          ***Advanced Courses are currently being developed for students interested in Education beyond the Beginner Certification Program.  Topics will include Sales, Business Management and Advanced Performance Training.
